Bark and chip chains are generally used for installation on conveyor belts in the so-called bottom sawmill, they transport bark waste and process chips to intermediate storage facilities. Usually, chains are supplied in pairs, between the chains grips are installed, which serve as fasteners. Bark and chip conveyor chains are of size class M112 - M224.

The most common chain type is type A without rollers, but due to the friction-reducing technical solution, types B and C are also frequently used. These types also reduce the chance of wear on the side plates because the chain is supported by rollers. Grips can be attached to the chain either by welding or by using threaded connections.
