For a bearing to function properly and to achieve a long service life, it is necessary to lubricate and maintain it regularly. The main function of the lubricant is to prevent metal-to-metal contact between the parts. The lubricant must provide a film between the rolling element and the raceways.
Rotary bearings usually use grease that also helps seal (providing additional protection against water or contaminants and less risk of lubricant loss).
Since slewing rings typically rotate at low speed, the free space between the rings can be completely filled with grease.
Rolling Chutes
The grease used must be resistant to aging and have good mechanical stability. A lithium-based anti-seize grease of NLGI consistency 2 is normally used. The grease must be water-resistant, with a temperature range of -30°C to + 110°C. In some cases, operating conditions or environmental conditions require a special grease (e.g. consistency 1 or 0 for low-temperature operation).
Unless otherwise specified, the bearings are lubricated with RKS grease using LGEP2 synthetic rubber or similar before delivery.
Gear
In most cases, the gear is lubricated with compound-type grease.
This grease should have good adhesion properties and good resistance to being washed out by the worker.
The grease must be able to withstand operating temperatures of 100° C at least, and the base oil must have a kinematic viscosity of at least 500 mm2 /s at 40° C.

The gear is not lubricated at the time of delivery!
