Periodic technical inspection of bolts

During operation, you should regularly check whether the fastening bolts have the required tightening force in the recommended tightening intervals. The individual inspection intervals vary depending on the operating conditions of the machine.
The following method can be used for inspection (estimated to be applicable when the crane is in service): 2 weeks to 3 months after commissioning: retighten all bolts.

During each installation, or once a year, or after 2,000 hours of operation, all bolts must be tightened. If one or more bolts have lost 20% or more of their prescribed preload, the bolt(s) in use, as well as the two adjacent bolts adjacent to it(them), must be replaced. If it is determined that 20% or more of the total number of bolts of one ring have less than 80% of the prescribed preload, all bolts must be replaced.

Always replace the bolts when replacing the bearing.

When performing an installation check, make sure that:
- the moving part is balanced (the tilting point is close to zero)
- there is no radial force.

After making sure that the bearing supports the axial load of the center action, tighten each bolt individually according to the prescribed order.

Never loosen or replace more than one bolt at a time.

Use the same tightening method, the same tools, and the same type of bolts that were used for the first, original installation.
Check the bolts for damage or corrosion and replace them if necessary.

Bearing numberInspectionQty of hours
1 Approx. 200 hrs - inspection of all bolts
- If more than 10% of the bolts are loose, the next inspection should be carried out after approx. 200 hours of operation.
2 Approx. 600 hrs - check all bolts for bending torque (tightening torque)
3 and etc. More than 2000 hours - If one or more bolts are loosened to less than 80% of the specified tightening torque, adjacent bolts must be replaced with new ones
- If 20% of the screws are loose for less than 80% of the specified torque, then renew all bolts.
Every 12 000 hours - Replace all bolts by one
