Side clearance of gears
Lateral clearance of the gears should be checked when the gear is at the point of maximum radial run-out (picture 6).
Module | Side clearance | ||
---|---|---|---|
Over | Including | From | To |
(mm) | (mm) | ||
3,15 | 6,3 | 250 | 375 |
6,3 | 10 | 300 | 450 |
10 | 12,5 | 450 | 675 |
12,5 | 16 | 600 | 900 |
16 | 20 | 800 | 1 200 |
20 | 25 | 1 000 | 1 500 |
The maximum values depend on the lateral clearance and the total radial error.
This type of wear, which manifests itself as increased noise, is usually not dangerous. The degree of wear, as well as the noise level, gradually decreases.
The variety of tips of tooth profile according to the table below minimizes this type of damage.
